Studying is just a part of life. An unfortunate part, but a part nonetheless.

We all know that familiar pain that comes after hours upon hours of endless studying. I believe that in order to study in the most effective manner, one must find little ways to entertain herself. Here are my top 15 most exciting things that one can do while studying to ease some of their pain:

1. Listen to music

Try plugging in your earphones and giving Beethoven a listen the next time you are memorizing Spanish vocabulary.

2. Eat

Nothing better than food to reward yourself with after each correct math problem you solve.

3. Drink

You would be surprised at how good hot chocolate taste when you are drinking it while writing an English paper.

4. Online shop

It never killed anyone to have an Amazon tap opened in their browser while they are doing research.

5. Sing

No matter what you are studying, singing will compliment it well.

6. Watch TV

While this one may be a little controversial, I find that it never hurts to have Friends on in the background while studying for your astronomy final. You would be surprised how much studying you can get done during commercials.

7. Calculate how many seconds you have been alive for

I result to this tactic when I am about ready to rip apart my economics book.

8. Braid your hair

Multitasking is a beautiful thing. Braiding your hair while reading is a true testament to the art.

9. Bounce a [small bouncy ball] off the wall

You would be surprised how much fun this can be and how much it can lift your mood.

10. Make up riddles

Test your creativity and make up riddles for the material that you are studying. Not only could your catchy phrase help you during an exam, but it sure is fun to do!

11. Pinterest

I would always recommend sneaking a peak at Pinterest every now and again while studying. Looking at Pinterest is proven to raise your moral and lift your spirit.

12. Bounce your leg

Sitting down is no good for your health. Unfortunately, studying while standing up is difficult to master. Trying jiggling your leg by bouncing the front of your foot. Not only is it better for your circulation, but it also is quite fun to do!

13. Wikipedia everything

If you find yourself wanting to blow out your brains while studying, turn to Wikipedia. Whatever you are studying will be much more interesting and fun to learn about if you Wikipedia everything.

14. Make a list of how much studying you have left to do

This might not seem like very much fun, but trust me, it is. There is a certain high that comes with the reward of getting to cross something off of your to-do list.

15. Doodle

Last but certainly not least, doodle! Every normal human being knows what it is like to doodle on the top of their notebook page. It is fun, creative, amusing, and just all around awesome. I am always doodling, and you should be too.
