The Story of Ian and Larissa Video

By Victoria Kim on May 10, 2012

You might’ve seen the video floating around Facebook. The story of Ian and Larissa Murphy has been a heart-wrenching and inspiring model of a covenant relationship – personally, it has brought tears to my eyes every time I watched the clip, lasting less than 10 minutes!

In a nutshell, a relationship between the college couple Ian and Larissa took a sudden turn when Ian suffered brain injury from a sudden car accident. How he recovered in the hospital was a miracle in itself, but his life as handicap began. As he dealt with therapy at home, Larissa resolved to stay by his side, moving into his parents’ house to take care of him and help him in any way she can. Even though Ian has operated as a disabled man, taking numerous pills and facing impediments in communication, Larissa and Ian has decided to travel on the emotional and spiritual road together. Their sacrifice, dedication and commitment to each other  has been what inspires hearts.

In their relationship after the accident, they endured another blow of loss when Ian’s father passed away from brain cancer, but this moved them to engagement and then marriage. It had become an option when Ian was able to verbally communicate, albeit with difficulty, with Larissa. However, their displays of love shown in the video gives a glimpse of a love that is beyond this world. They’ve managed to have found joy in the midst of hardship, and as seen from the screen, their joy is evident to those around them. Now, their story is available to view to the public.
