The company will give out two $5,000 scholarships to U.S. engineering students and bestow $1,000 grants to their university’s engineering departments. Additionally, ASCO Numatics will host the student at “The Amazing Packaging Race” PACK EXPO Las Vegas from September 20-23, where students will be awarded their scholarships.

“The Amazing Packaging Race,” which is sponsored by ASCO Numatics, is a fun and educational event that sets teams of packaging students from programs around the country against each other in a race to obtain points by completing tasks at various PACK EXPO booths.

“This year, we again are pleased to offer our support to America’s best and most driven engineering students through the ASCO Numatics Scholarship program,” said Robert W. Kemple, Jr., executive vice president, sales and marketing – Americas, ASCO Numatics. “We’re proud, as an industry leader, to support our next-generation of engineering leaders.”

The application is currently available and the window to apply is open. The deadline to submit an application is April 3, 2015. More information about the scholarship and the application form is available here.

Candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student for the 2015-2016 academic year in an undergraduate or graduate program in an instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation discipline at an accredited U.S. educational institution. The applicants are also required to keep at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale and be a U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident.

The scholarships are merit-based and a panel of ASCO Numatics executives and independent judges will choose the finalists for the awards. The students are judged based on their leadership potential and prospective contributions to the industrial automation engineering industry, particularly as it relates to the application of fluid control and fluid power technologies.

In the last eight years, ASCO Numatics has given $70,000 in scholarships to 14 students and has also awarded another $14,000 in grants to 12 U.S. engineering schools.
